Chocolate does not have to be unhealthy, hard to make or a processed food. Or packed with sugar for that matter. Chocolate can actually be very healthy, but still super tasty. How? Raw Chocolate is the answer.

Raw Chocolate has not been heated over 41 degrees celsius, and has therefore all the nutritional benefits intact. Processed chocolate pretty much does not have any nutritional benefits at all as it is heated to very high temperatures, and then cooled down and heated up again multiple times. It is also heavily processed with lots of unnecessary additives, sugar and dairy. Raw chocolate is vegan, sugar free, gluten free, dairy free and good for you. It’s not processed, and has no strange additives. What’s not to like about it?

The nutritional facts

Cacao which is the main ingredient in raw chocolate is a mayan superfood. In all raw cacao contains over 300 nutritients including antioxidants, flavonoids, fibre, iron, zinc, copper, calcium and magnesium. It has especially high values of magnesium, iron and antioxidants. It contains tryptophan which is known to help with depression, and phenylethylamine which gives the feeling of being in love. It has also been found that raw chocolate/raw cacao is beneficial for cardiovascular health.

Because the chocolate is not heated above 41 degrees celsius, all the enzymes, antioxidants and nutrients are all intact.

You can also add other superfoods to your chocolate to make it even more nutritious. A few examples are lecithin, mesquite, gojiberries and etc.
